Will technology finally get used properly in all federal agencies? Washington DC is not known for rapid change, but having technology at the forefront of the changeover to the Obama administration gives me hope that agencies will become more open and responsive.

The telcos would be laughed out of the room if they didn’t have so much lobbying power. They are deadly serious in fighting any regulation, and proponents of a fair and free Internet should redouble their efforts to enact net neutrality regulation before the situation becomes worse.

Test your DNS servers

The DNS spoofing that is out on the internet is the worst kind of security problem because you can’t do anything about it. However, you can find out how your ISP deals with DNS lookups, and can change your DNS to OpenDNS if your ISP can’t or won’t fix this huge security hole.

When will DRM die?

Slashdot has an interesting post about two lawsuits filed agaings EA for their DRM included on new games. If the only way to make companies act responsibly, then so be it. Hopefully the courts that hear these lawsuits can fully understand how onerous this DRM is to the law-abiding consumer.
